Planning boost for new Warwick tattoo parlour

Plans for a new tattoo parlour in the centre of Warwick have been handed a planning boost.
The Inkwell Tattoo Co has been given planning permission to repaint a vacant unit on High Street by Warwick District Council.
Planning permission to convert the former restaurant into a tattoo parlour had already been signed off by the local authority.
Plans show the wooden shopfront will be painted black, with the name of the business simply painted on the front.
The application explained: "The work is like-for-like maintenance, with no structural changes, material alterations, or impact on the historic character of the grade II listed building."
It continued: "This application seeks consent for routine maintenance repainting with no impact on the building's structure, character, or accessibility.
"The work is essential for preservation and will maintain the shopfront's historical integrity and visual appeal within Warwick's conservation area."

The Inkwell is taking over the unit from Tasca Dali which has relocated to Market Square.
Signing off on the latest application, a council report said: "It is considered that the proposed works are acceptable, being relatively minor in nature with no harmful impact to the group value of the heritage asset.
"The colour scheme proposed is considered to be traditional and appropriate for a historic shop front.
"It is considered that the works will have a neutral impact upon both the character and integrity of the listed building and the wider conservation area.
"The application is therefore recommended for approval."
