Inspired Villages to host 'Summer Celebration' as it celebrates phase three of its Austin Heath development

Sir Trevor McDonald will be the guest of honour as a Heathcote retirement village officially opens its latest homes.

Austin Heath, on Gallagher Way, is hosting a 'Summer Celebration' on Friday 10 June to mark the opening of Phase three of the development.

Acclaimed broadcaster, Sir Trevor McDonald will be hosting the event at the village and cutting the ribbon to officially launch the new phase.

He will also be taking part in a Q&A covering his news presenting career, knighthood, as well as tips on how he stays feeling young and how to make the most of retirement.

The Summer Celebration will run from 11am-3pm with live music, local produce stalls, craft demos, vintage Austin Healey car, a flower arranging class and a barbeque showcasing.

Alison Harrison, village manager at Austin Heath, said: "We are so excited to welcome Sir Trevor to Austin Heath for our Summer Celebration to mark the opening of our newest phase – the day promises to be full of music, laughter, glorious food and fun."

Austin Heath, which is managed by Inspired Villages, has 167 homes, including village centre apartments, assisted living, panorama and penthouses.

Facilities include, Eric's café, The Dining Room Restaurant, vitality pool, steam and sauna room, hair and beauty salon, gym, craft room and library/cinema room.
