A Warwick pub has been granted permission to install outside seating around the front of the building.

The Railway Inn on Guy Street has been allowed to set up four benches, after a pavement licence was granted by Warwick District Council on March 11.

The pub can use the seating from 3pm to 10pm Monday to Thursday, 3pm to 11pm on Fridays, 12 noon to 11pm on Saturdays and 12 noon to 8pm on Sundays.

New laws on pavement licences were brought into effect in the summer of 2020 to make it easier for businesses to apply for permission to put furniture outside during the pandemic.

The Railway Inn briefly shut in 2023 with the previous tenants leaving after just a year at the venue.

Landlord Admiral Taverns then started to look for new tenants to reopen the "bustling community pub" which once again welcomed guests back in September 2023 after a brief makeover, with new tenants Arran & Louise taking over.

Warwick café Pastelaria Portuguesa recently had its application for a pavement licence approved by the local authority.

Locals can comment on the application for the Railway Inn here.
