A new Mexican restaurant has opened in the centre of Warwick bringing a 'tapas style' menu to locals.
Mexicanos opened on Jury Street on November 1 after just a month of work converting the former Lebanese eatery into a "little paradise".
The new venue has already proved a hit with locals with its two menus - one serving bigger, traditional Mexican meals including fajitas and burgers, and the second offering a huge range of smaller bites, perfect for sharing.
"I use only fresh and quality products, I also really like the tapas concept - sharing is caring!" business owner Emine Zeren told Nub News.
"What I have done is continue with the Mexican food and the street food with the fajitas and the burgers.
"But we have two menus, with a second that is all tapas dishes. I want everyone to come and try a variety of dishes, to share the food, share the experience and get to enjoy the meal together.
"The feedback has already been really good, people have really enjoyed it."
Born in Turkey, Emine has been a chef her whole life and said she fell in love with the "vibrant colours and spices" of Mexican cuisine while working in Cancoon.
Since then she has helped run Selminas on Coventry's Spon Street for seven and a half years before deciding to launch this new venture in Warwick.
"I was one of the partners at Selminas in Coventry and was looking to expand and open my own restaurant," she explained.
"I found the restaurant in Warwick and decided to take the opportunity.
"I looked at a couple of units in Leamington and Coventry, but I loved this place. I also really like Warwick, with all the history, it is great."
Having got the keys to the unit on October 1 the team worked around the clock to transform the town centre venue with "everything" changed inside.
Explaining the process of getting Mexicanos ready, Emine explained: "It was very exciting.
"We put in a lot of time and effort to create the ambience, it was amazing to put it together. I love these green colours, it gives a really warm feeling.
"And I like the tropical feel - it's like a "little paradise". The ambience of the restaurant is really important."
Following an "amazing" opening night, the restaurant has already had a lot of interest from locals.
But for those yet to visit, Emine explained: "This is not just a business, this is my home.
"I want to bring something to Warwick that is unique and enjoyable.
"I want everyone who comes here to leave happier than they arrived. I am really dedicated to my passion and my cooking.
"We are trying our best to give the best food, the best service and the best of everything. It is not about sales, but about satisfaction for the customers."
