Warwick planning roundup: wine bar extension, car park changes and new wedding venue
By James Smith 31st Oct 2026
Here are three of the biggest local planning stories from the past week in Warwick.
Wine Bar Extension
A Warwick wine bar could be extended after a fresh planning application was submitted to Warwick District Council.
The latest bid follows an earlier application, with the business now seeking permission for an updated scheme.
The proposal could allow the venue to expand its premises, subject to approval from council planners.
Car Park Changes
Almost a third of the spaces at a Warwick town centre car park could be fenced off for private use under new plans submitted by Warwick District Council.
The council has applied for permission to enclose 32 of the 99 spaces at West Rock Car Park, off Commainge Close.
The proposals include a 2.4-metre-high steel fence and gates around the southern section of the car park. The enclosed spaces would be reserved for residents of nearby flats who lost their allocated parking when another council-owned car park closed.
The changes would be temporary, with permission sought for five years. The remaining 67 spaces would continue to be available to the public.
Wedding Venue Plans
Warwick residents have a final opportunity to comment on plans for a new wedding venue at Longbridge Manor.
Warwick District Council has already granted planning permission to change the ground floor of the building from offices into a hospitality venue.
Now RHG Manor Ltd has applied for a premises licence allowing alcohol sales and live music from 8am until midnight, seven days a week.
The venue would be able to accommodate up to 110 guests, with four rooms available for weddings. Live music would be permitted indoors until midnight and outdoors until 10pm.
The company has also said it hopes to host charity events and private functions at the site.
Residents have until October 30 to comment on the licensing application.
