A fresh bid to build an extension at a Warwick restaurant has been put forward to council planners.

GSD Properties Ltd wants to build a single-storey extension to the rear of The Aubergine Wine House on Smith Street.

A similar application was refused by Warwick District Council in January.

But GSD says the latest plans are in keeping with the local area.

It said: "The proposed extension has been designed to respect the special architectural and historic interest of the listed building and the character and appearance of the conservation area."

The last application had slightly different designs for the extension and also included changes to the rooms above the bar.

The upstairs changes have been omitted this time around.

"The flat roof previously proposed has been replaced with a traditional pitched form; the roof is now finished in grey slate to match the existing building rather than an unspecified flat covering," the application continued.
