Warwick planning roundup: New supermarket, paddling pools and industrial works

Here are the biggest local planning stories from the past week.
New Supermarket?
Supermarket giant Lidl has been given a boost in its plans to open a new supermarket between Warwick and Leamington Spa.
The discount retailer had submitted a scheme to Warwick District Council which would see Europa House on Heathcote Lane demolished to make way for the new store.
Plans show the warehouse building on the 2.12 acre site would make way for the new supermarket and 125-vehicle car park.
Industrial Works Halted
Plans to turn an industrial building in Warwick into ten new homes have been halted by council planners.
Allworks Properties Ltd had applied for 'prior approval' for the development which would have seen the building on Cape Road Industrial Estate repurposed.
The application sought permission to turn the railway-side unit into eight, one-bedroom apartments and two, two bedroom apartments, split over two floors.
Paddling Pool Progress
New photographs have shown the progress on Warwick's new paddling pool.
Warwick District Council (WDC) is working to renovate the facility at St Nicholas Park.
Works began in February and are due to finish in "early summer".
