Here are the biggest planning stories from the last week in and around Warwick.

Village Hall

A village hall could be turned into offices if plans are signed off by the district council.

Sherbourne Park Estate has applied for a change of use for Sherbourne Village Hall, to make it commercial offices.

The 19th century building was used as a school until the 1940's, and has been used to host community events since 1962.

But a planning application submitted to Warwick District Council says the lease for the building has barely been used in the last year with the lease ending in September 2022.

New Homes Edge Closer

Controversial plans to build 69 new homes in Warwick look set to be approved, despite the objections of neighbours and the town council.

Warwick District Council has recommended the scheme for Goggbridge Lane be approved, with councillors set to vote on the application next Tuesday (March 28).

Taylor Wimpey put forward the plans last year, and if approved they will see the employment land turned into houses.

Veterinary Laboratory

An American veterinary diagnostics company is eyeing an expansion into England with plans to open a "landmark" laboratory at Tachbrook Park.

Antech Diagnostics LTD has applied for planning permission to turn an empty industrial warehouse into a veterinary laboratory, employing 54 people.

The company handles testing for vets and develops diagnostic solutions to help animal welfare and care.
