Warwick planning roundup: 400 homes, industrial building and padel plans

Here are the biggest local planning stories from the past week.
Hundreds of Homes
Plans for 400 homes on the edge of Warwick have taken a step forward.
Taylor Wimpey has been told it needs to provide an 'environmental impact assessment' for the proposed development off Old Budbrooke Road.
Plans show the developer wants to develop the 17.5 hectare plot along the A46 and near Warwick Parkway station.
Industrial Building's Future
A request to allow a Warwick industrial building to be used for a wider range of businesses has been blocked by Warwick District Council.
Allworks Properties Ltd had submitted an application for a 'certificate of lawfulness' for the building at Cape Road Industrial Estate, asking for it to be recognised as 'class E' which allows for a huge range of commercial ventures.
The business submitted three testimonies from previous occupants and the insurance brokers who all said the building should be recognised as the wider classification.
Padel Courts Approved - For Now
A member has accused Warwick Boat Club of "abusing" planning rules as it was given temporary planning permission for some a padel court.
Warwick District Council's planning committee last week granted planning permission to the Mill Street facility to keep the courts which had been installed without planning permission.
Just one councillor voted against the retrospective application which had been recommended for approval by council officers.
