Warwick planning roundup: Coach company, raceway and caravan park
Here are the biggest planning stories from the last week in and around Warwick.
Coach Company Blocked
A Warwick coach company's plans for expansion have been blocked by the district council.
Ridleys Coaches Ltd had applied for planning permission to turn an area of grassland next to its Stratford Road base into a much bigger parking area for its coaches.
The application said no buildings would be built, but the 7,200 sq metres of scrubland would be hard paved in order to provide up to 72 new spaces.

New Life for 'Redundant' Barn
A 'redundant' barn is set to get a new lease of life after plans to convert it into four homes were approved.
The scheme for Oakley Wood Farm on Banbury Road will see the modern barn turned into a terrace of four, two-storey properties.
A planning application for a similar scheme had already been approved by Warwick District Council in 2020, but the fresh plans with a new layout have now been given a green light.
----------
Raceway
A rural Warwickshire racetrack considered to be one of the best in the world by radio controlled car enthusiasts will now be able to accommodate drivers in their caravans and motorhomes during weekend meetings.
Permission was also granted for improvements already carried out at the circuit near Bishop's Itchington including a catering facility, toilet block, race control/offices and a winner's rostrum.
But the plans were challenged by some local residents, the parish council and district councillor representing the area who said the meetings at Nemo Raceway, in Knightcote, brought traffic issues and problems with noise.
----------
Village Medical Centre
Plans to extend a village medical centre into a neighbouring pub car park have been blocked by the district council.
A scheme for Budbrooke Medical Centre would have seen a two-storey building constructed on the car park of The Montgomery of Alamein pub next door.
----------
Storage for Caravan Site
Storage containers will replace caravans at a site on the edge of Wellesbourne Airfield in spite of environmental concerns from the local parish council.
Cllr Anne Prior, of Wellesbourne and Walton Parish Council, said there had been opposition to the plans ever since the first batch of 20 containers were allowed on appeal at the Newlands caravan site back in 2010.
A further 50 were added in 2015 with the operators of the business now seeking permission to take the total number up to 90.
