A new tattoo studio has opened in Warwick.

The Inkwell Tattoo Co. officially opened its doors on Warwick High Street in August.

Speaking to Nub News, owners, Zoe and Michael, said the opening had been a "really challenging" process at times, especially finding a suitable space for the business and restoring and fitting out the grade II listed building in the town centre.

However, they said also it has also been "really rewarding seeing the space we created take shape and become a welcoming place we're proud of".

Zoe and Michael have been tattooing for years, and so opening their own studio felt like a next natural step.

They explained: "Warwick stood out to us because of its character, history, and strong sense of community.

"It just has a great energy about it. We'd been scouting the area for some time, so when we found a spot on the High Street we knew we wanted to be part of what it had to offer as well as bring something different to it."

Both Zoe and Micheal work across a range of styles and enjoy blackwork, woodcut, traditional, decorative floral, folklore, fine line, and lettering.

Since opening, the duo said the response from the Warwick community has been "overwhelmingly positive."

"People have welcomed us warmly, from clients booking their first tattoos to locals just dropping by to say hello and see what we've done with the place," they said.

"It's been encouraging to see such genuine curiosity and support from the Warwick community."

When asked if they had any advice for someone looking to get their first tattoo they said: "Take your time.

"Find a design you love or that means something to you, but also trust your artist's guidance. Start small if you're unsure, and don't rush the process.

"A good tattoo is a collaboration, and the best results come when both client and artist are invested in the outcome."

Looking forward Michael and Zoe said they hope The Inkwell Tattoo Co will become "a creative space where people feel comfortable, inspired, and part of something.

"Our goal is to build long-term relationships with clients, contribute to the cultural life of Warwick, and continue evolving our work as artists."
