A Warwick pub has applied for permission to keep its outside seating.

The Roebuck on Smith Street wants to set up just two tables and four chairs to the front of the venue, but still needs a pavement licence from Warwick District Council.

If approved, the permission will allow the inn to use the seating from 11am to 10pm Monday to Sunday.

The tables will not be enclosed, and will leave 1.66 metres of pavement for passersby.

If approved, the café would be allowed to keep the chairs and tables for two years.

New laws on pavement licences were brought into effect in the summer of 2020 to make it easier for businesses to apply for permission to put furniture outside during the pandemic.

Warwick cafés Pastelaria Portuguesa and The Tuckery recently had their applications for a pavement licence approved by the local authority, as did the Railway Inn.
