Here are the biggest planning stories from the last week in and around Warwick.

Former Factory to be Demolished

A former factory in Warwick could be demolished and turned into eight houses if plans are approved by Warwick District Council.

"The poor quality, limited scale of the site, lack of off road parking, and nearby residential uses are the main reasons why the site has not attracted alternative employment uses," the planning application states.

Plans show that two terraces each of four houses would be built if the 1960s industrial unit is knocked down.

Guest House to Family Homes

A Victorian guest house in Warwick could be turned into a family home if plans are given the green light.

If approved the scheme would see Austin Guest House, on Emscote Road, turned into a seven-bed house.

The bed and breakfast currently has six guest rooms split over three floors, whilst the owners have a granny annexe in the basement with two bedrooms and a lounge.

Sixty New Jobs as Engineering Firm Grows

At least 60 new jobs could be created if a Warwick vehicle design business' expansion plans are given the green light.

Contechs Ltd has submitted an application to build new offices on the Budbrooke Industrial Estate, saying it needs to grow as it deals with more EV clients worldwide.

Plans to build a two-storey office on the canalside site have been submitted to Warwick District Council, and if approved the building would be built next to Grand Union House, which was taken over Contechs last year.
