A Victorian guest house in Warwick could be turned into a family home if plans are given the green light.

If approved the scheme would see Austin Guest House, on Emscote Road, turned into a seven-bed house.

The bed and breakfast currently has six guest rooms split over three floors, whilst the owners have a granny annexe in the basement with two bedrooms and a lounge.

The plans show that there would be few interior changes to the house if they are approved by Warwick District Council. The only change being that the ground floor bedroom would no longer be used as such.

Revised drawings for the application were submitted at the start of May, with Warwick Town Council making no objection to the proposals.

In 2012 planning permission was granted for a rear extension to make it easier for the owners to get in and out of the basement into the back garden.

And should this latest application be approved, Emscote Road would still have plenty of bed and breakfasts, with Chesterfields, Park House and Westham all situated on the same road as the three star Austin Guest House.

The application comes as Warwick Castle was granted permission to build a 60-bed hotel.
