Here are the biggest local planning stories from the past week.
Zetland House (not Arms!)
The owners of a new house which was once a pub in the centre of Warwick have applied for permission to remove the replica sign from the front, having been disturbed by hopeful punters looking to visit the closed inn.
The Zetland Arms on Church Street was turned into a six-bedroom townhouse after planning permission was granted in March 2022.
The pub was closed for two years before the scheme was approved, but a fresh application to Warwick District Council said some people still think it is open for business.
Fast Food Forward
New photographs show the progress on two new drive thru eateries at Leamington Shopping Park.
The former Frankie & Benny's restaurant at the Tachbrook Park Drive centre has already been demolished, with contractors working fast to create the two new fast food outlets.
Planning permission to create the drive thrus was signed off by Warwick District Council last year.
Updates Needed!
Leader Izzi Seccombe has asked Warwickshire County Council to publish updates on the delayed new roundabout over the A46 in Kenilworth following accusations of "secrecy" and "mismanagement".
Cllr Seccombe made the commitment in response to a scathing assessment of progress by Richard Dickson, a Liberal Democrat district councillor from Kenilworth who addressed the county's cabinet – elected decision makers – this week.
The £38 million project to alleviate congestion and improve road safety was due to be completed in the summer of 2022 but there is currently a disconnected bridge towering over the A46 at Stoneleigh Junction.
