Warwick planning roundup: padel courts approved and two new parcel locker plans
By James Smith 24th Oct 2026
Here are three of the biggest local planning stories from the past week.
Padel Courts Approved
Plans for a new padel centre at Squab Hall Farm off Harbury Lane have been approved by councillors, despite planning officers recommending refusal.
The application from T.I. Evans & Sons will see three indoor courts, changing rooms and a café created inside an existing storage unit.
Warwick District Council planning officers had argued that the loss of employment land was not justified and that the site was too reliant on car travel.
However, councillors decided the benefits to community health, sports facilities and local employment outweighed the harm identified. The facility is expected to create six jobs and operate from 7am to 11pm, seven days a week.
New Parcel Locker Proposed
A new InPost parcel locker could be installed at The Gap Community Centre on Oakwood Grove in Warwick.
The nationwide delivery company has submitted plans to Warwick District Council for the facility, which would allow people to collect deliveries, send parcels and return online purchases.
InPost says the location of its lockers is chosen with accessibility, safety and the surrounding community in mind.
The proposal comes as the company faces scrutiny over another locker installed on Emscote Road without planning permission.
Locker Installed Without Permission
Elsewhere in town - plans have been submitted retrospectively for a parcel locker installed in Warwick over a year ago.
The application concerns an InPost Parcel Locker on Emscote Road, which was installed in February 2025.
Now, more than a year later, planning permission is being sought for the locker.
