Warwick planning roundup: Major solar farm, townhouses and dog walking
Here are the biggest planning stories from the last week in and around Warwick.
Fifty Old Traffords
A solar farm likened to "50 Old Traffords" on green belt land near Sherbourne has been granted planning permission in a call that divided councillors.
Warwick District Council's planning committee passed the proposal for a solar farm that is set to power up to 7,500 homes on farm land north of the A46, Sherbourne Hill. The permission lasts for 40 years.
Objectors, including local member Cllr Jan Matecki, argued that the very special circumstances had not been met to develop on the green belt and that alternative sites could be found.

Dog Walking Denied
Plans to launch a dog walking business at a local farm have been thwarted for a second time by district planners.
A previous application to turn a field at Squab Hall Farm in Bishops Tachbrook into a dog walking site was turned down by Warwick District Council (WDC) in September.
The council described the plans as "harmful" to the local area.
And now a second scheme - for a different piece of land at the Harbury Lane farm - has been thrown out.

Townhouses Take Shape
Nine new canalside townhouses being built in Warwick are nearing completion and are still available to buy.
A year after Cotswold Oak Ltd began work on site, the 'Emscote Old Wharf' development is almost finished, with the show home now open.
Planning permission for the development alongside the Grand Union Canal was granted by Warwick District Council in 2019.
