Warwick planning roundup: dog walking, WHSmith and school building

Here are the biggest local planning stories from the past week.
Dog Walking Decision
Plans to turn a farmer's field next to a major new housing development into a dedicated dog walking space have been given the green light by council planners.
James Mahon & Sons Ltd has been granted planning permission for the dog walking field on a two acre patch of land at the corner of Flat Rabbit Road and Banbury Road.
Signed off by Warwick District Council, the new venture will replace a piece of land used to graze sheep, next to the new Asps housing development.
WHSmith's Future
WHSmith is set to disappear from the centre of Warwick with plans for new signs now submitted for approval.
A planning application for the new signs submitted to Warwick District Council (WDC) shows the designs for the TGJones logo at the Market Street shop.
The scheme comes as WHSmith has sold its high street stores in a £76 million deal with Modella Capital - the firm which owns Hobbycraft.
School Building Secured
Council planners have signed off on plans to convert a village house into a "remarkable" new school.
MP for Kenilworth and Southam Sir Jeremy Wright had already thrown his support behind the application to convert Oldmill House, off Five Ways Road, into a facility for children who struggle in mainstream education.
Applicant Northleigh House School Ltd said the Shrewley home would become a school for 35 pupils.
