WHSmith is set to disappear from the centre of Warwick with plans for new signs now submitted for approval.

A planning application for the new signs submitted to Warwick District Council (WDC) shows the designs for the TGJones logo at the Market Street shop.

The scheme comes as WHSmith has sold its high street stores in a £76 million deal with Modella Capital - the firm which owns Hobbycraft.

The deal will include all 480 stores nationwide, including Warwick's WH Smith at Market Street.

WHSmith said the sale will mean it can focus on the travel arm of the business.

The application for the new signs to WDC said the new designs are "like for like replacements".

It is not clear from the application when the shift from WHSmith to TGJones will take place.
