Warwick planning roundup: Bridge scheme, community hall and children's ward
Here are the biggest planning stories from the last week in and around Warwick.
'Get off their Backside'
A district councillor keen to see his Warwickshire County Council colleagues "get off their backsides" in relation to a bridge building project seems set to get his way.
Warwick District Council's cabinet this week released funds to pay for feasibility work on two bridges for pedestrians and cyclists.
One of them is proposed to cross over Europa Way to the south of Warwick and Leamington with £65,000 being put forward by the district, progress that Cllr Alan Rhead was pleased to see.

Community Hall Help
One of the last features of Leamington's old football ground is set to finally be consigned to history through the building of a new youth and community centre.
The village of Barford has utilised a former canteen building, salvaged from AP Leamington's headquarters, as its scout hut for the past 30 years.
However, plans to replace it with a purpose-built hub took a big stride forward this week when Warwick District Council agreed to a £250,000 grant to help fund the £866,000 revamp.

Children's Ward
Plans to create a "state-of-the-art children's ward" at Warwick Hospital have been signed off by district planners.
South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust last year announced its intention to expand the MacGregor Children's Ward to "ensure all of our young patients experience a safe and engaging environment during their care".
Through the Young Minds Matter fundraiser, the trust has been raising the £350,00 needed to build a new playroom, an adolescent recreational area and a sensory area.
