Here are the biggest local planning stories from the past week.

School's Return Slowed

Warwick's Aylesford School may not return to its main building in time for the new school year, as works on site continue.

Students at the Tapping Way school have been forced to learn from temporary classrooms this year following the discovery of reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC) and asbestos last summer.

For a while pupils were mainly having to learn from home, as the school worked to find a temporary solution.

Solar Panel Plans

Plans to install 240 solar panels on the roof of a Warwick industrial building have been put forward to the council.

Hansgrohe Ltd has applied for prior approval to cover the roof of its Edgehill Drive base with PV panels.

The application submitted to Warwick District Council says the 126kWp system will generate 104,000kWh per year.

Takeaway Taken Away?

A Warwick takeaway could be turned into a family home, if plans are approved by Warwick District Council.

GAD New Built Ltd has applied to convert the Millennium Wok Chinese takeaway on Emscote Road into a three-bed house.

The Hatton-based firm's application to Warwick District Council said the terraced building was bought specifically to be converted into a house, with the estate agents having struggled to sell it as a business.
