Warwick council roundup: Reform's election surge, roadworks and town centre vision

Here is a roundup of the biggest decisions that have been made by the local councils in the last month.

Warwick Town Council

People who live and work in Warwick are being asked to share their memories of the town as part of a special project to help improve the look of the town centre.

An ambitious vision for ways to improve Warwick town centre has been officially launched, along with a comprehensive action plan that aims to improve the town for generations to come.

Warwick District Council

Councillors at Warwick District Council have agreed to support an interim plan for changes to local government in Warwickshire.

Around 20,000 responses were received to the latest public consultation into the new South Warwickshire Local Plan.

Discussions are taking place over whether Warwick District Council should become the latest local authority to distance itself from social media platform X.

Solar panels are set to be installed at Warwick's leisure centre, as part of a district-wide rollout of green energy plans.

Warwickshire County Council

Huge political change is set to hit Shire Hall as Reform ended Friday's count with the most seats on Warwickshire County Council - but not a majority.

And one of the winners insisting their lack of experience "doesn't worry me in the slightest". 

Meanwhile deposed Warwickshire County Council leader Izzi Seccombe admits it will be a long road back for the Conservatives after a battering by Reform UK.

A councillor insists "it is wrong" that Warwickshire County Council is shelling out £265,000 per year on a disused office block and that the losses were preventable.

A price has now been revealed for a council-owned conference and training centre in Warwick which has now been on the market for nearly a year.

A large number of local roads were resurfaced this April.

Traffic management is set to remain in place around the A452, Europa Way, following a "successful trial".
