Solar panels are set to be installed at St Nicholas Park Leisure Centre, as part of a district-wide rollout of green energy plans.

Council planners have said Warwick District Council does not need prior approval for the works, which will see two flat roofs on the west side of the building covered in panels.

The installation will have an energy output of 218 kWp

"The proposed siting of the solar panels will not be detrimental to the external appearance of the building and amenity of the area," a council report said.

The council is also set to install solar panels at Castle Farm Leisure Centre in Kenilworth and at Jubilee House.

Panels have also already been installed at Newbold Comyn in Leamington Spa.

It has not been announced when the panels will be installed.
