A Warwick-based designer and manufacturer of custom lithium battery systems, has secured the 'Innovation of the Year' award at the Made in Britain Impact Awards for its "game-changing" resin encapsulation process.
Raeon was recognised at this week's ceremony hosted by Made in Britain – the internationally recognised trademark for British-made goods.
Professor Chris Harrop OBE, who was among the judges, praised Raeon for its pioneering approach to lithium battery design and its commitment to scalable, UK-based production across multiple chemistries – from nickel manganese cobalt oxide (NMC) and lithium iron phosphate (LFP) to lithium titanate oxide (LTO).
Raeon's patent-pending technology replaces costly, time-intensive manufacturing methods with a flexible process that allows batteries to be produced in any shape or size within weeks rather than years.
By dramatically reducing both cost and lead time, Raeon has made electrification achievable for sectors previously unable to access custom energy solutions.
Head of Engineering at Raeon, Marisa Kurimbokus said: "We develop custom battery solutions for those with volume applications, which allows other companies to move forward with their own ambitious plans to electrify their products. Everything from drones to submarines, and robotics - just to name a few.
"I distinctly remember when I was at school, my geography teacher was explaining primary, secondary and tertiary industries, and she said 'none of you will ever work in secondary industries because we don't make anything in Britain anymore'. I'm utterly delighted to prove her wrong."

Judges highlighted the company's advanced engineering and rapid prototyping capability, which has cut development costs by up to 70% and delivery times by 80%. This enables smaller manufacturers and specialist vehicle builders to electrify products that were previously uneconomical to power. By removing long-standing financial and technical barriers, Raeon has opened the door to faster, more sustainable electrification across the UK's industrial and mobility sectors.
John Pearce, CEO of Made in Britain, added: "Raeon has developed a breakthrough that fundamentally changes what's possible for British manufacturers. By removing the prohibitive cost and time barriers that once limited access to advanced battery technology, it gives SMEs and specialist builders a realistic route to electrify their products and grow sustainably.
"The judges and I really were blown away by this game-changing process. It's an exceptional example of practical engineering driving real progress across multiple industries."
The award was sponsored by Yovoy and Raeon was in esteemed company in the category, with London Defence, a specialist in advanced protective technologies, coming highly commended, while Corplex UK Ltd, a continental leader in reusable plastic packaging and component solutions, took home the runner-up prize.

Serving sectors including defence, marine, motorsport and industrial manufacturing, Raeon's innovation is helping businesses transition to clean power through affordable, rapid production of bespoke batteries designed and built in the UK.
The Impact Awards, organised and hosted by the not-for-profit trade body, Made in Britain, are open exclusively to its 2,200+ members – manufacturers who proudly use the official Made in Britain trademark to promote their goods.
Other winners from the 2025 Made in Britain Impact Awards include WDS Components (Heritage Manufacturer of the Year), Paxman Scalp Cooling (Heroes of British Export), Sunswap Ltd (Excellence in Procurement and Marketing Campaign of the Year), Morland (Social Impact), Wrought Iron & Brass Beds Ltd (Inspiring Leader of the Year) and Britwind (Sustainability Initiative of the Year).
