Residents will be able to see steam power in action on the mainline this weekend as 'The Shakespeare' travels through Warwickshire once again.

The express will actually pass nearby four times as it makes the return journey from Worcester to Stratford-upon-Avon twice.

The train will depart from Worcester Shrub Hill for the first time at 10.25am on Sunday 30 June and pass through Henley-in-Arden on its journey south, reaching Stratford at 12.55pm.

After pausing to be photographed, the express will make its way back to Birmingham Snow Hill via Claverdon in the early afternoon.

The excursion will then return to Stratford (again via Henley) in time to pick up passengers at 4.15pm.

It will then make its fourth and final trip through the county via Claverdon back to Worcester.

Promoted by Vintage Trains, fares for the special start at £30.

The excursion has previously been hauled by either 7029 Clun Castle and 5043 Earl of Mount Edgcumbe.

Exact timings for Warwickshire are expected later in the week.
