Warwickshire Police and Crime Commissioner Philip Seccombe has launched the process to find the next Chief Constable for Warwickshire Police.

It follows the decision of the force's previous Chief Constable, Debbie Tedds, to retire in September.

Mr Seccombe says he is looking for someone with "exceptional leadership skills, a public-facing approach, and a talent for community engagement" who is "adept at fostering strong collaborations with our partners".

The closing deadline for applications is 12 noon on 20 November.

The force says it is advertising widely and applications are being sought from all suitably qualified candidates, particularly those from under-represented groups.

Alex Franklin-Smith is currently acting as chief constable in the interim.

Mr Seccombe said: "The Chief Constable role is a pivotal role for policing and for local communities, so it is essential we find the right person who can lead Warwickshire Police forward over the next few years.

"The successful candidate will bring energy and enthusiasm to propel Warwickshire Police to the next level of excellence. An unwavering commitment to both the county and the force is essential, along with significant experience across the policing sector, including roles in various forces that showcase a diverse understanding of the field

"They will have the opportunity to make their mark and make a significant contribution to the safety and wellbeing of communities across Warwickshire. And lead a dynamic force in delivering my Police and Crime Plan with vision and integrity."
