An outline planning application for a new primary school in Warwick has been submitted to Warwickshire County Council's planning department.
If approved, the scheme will see a new two-form entry school and 34-place nursery built on land north of Fusiliers Way.
The facility, which would be called 'Myton Gardens Primary School' is one of three new schools the council says are needed in the area.
The application - which has also been put forward by the county council - says: "As a result of growth, current forecasts show that if all housing developments planned for the South Leamington/Warwick area are approved, it is estimated that 4,500 new homes will generate an additional 1,022 children, or six to seven forms of entry per year group in the medium to long term.
"To meet this demand, the first new primary provision was opened in September 2017 [Heathcote Primary School] and has since been expanded to accommodate two forms of entry.
"A further three new primary schools will be required across the area with developer contributions and land secured via s106 Agreements to deliver the necessary provision, one of which is Myton Gardens."
The current application shows only the outline of the scheme - details of the design for the school would then need to be submitted in a reserved matters application.
However, plans do show the school would be built on 2.42 hectares of land near to Evergreen SEND School on an 'L' shaped parcel of land spanning three fields.
The scheme also shows two sports fields, an all-weather pitch, an outdoor classroom area and two basketball courts would be built at the school.
A large portion of the site had previously been stripped and used to dump construction waste.
