Opening date confirmed for new Warwick Co-op
By James Smith 4th Aug 2026
Warwick's new Co-op shop is just weeks away from opening.
The supermarket will replace the former The Original Factory Shop in Market Square and will open on August 21.
The news of the new Co-op has since been welcomed by Warwick Town Council, MP for Warwick and Leamington Matt Western, as well as locals.
The shop is also set to have a café courtesy of local chain Bewiched inside the new unit.
The company - which has sites in Heathcote and Leamington Spa town centre - also already has a coffee shop at the Co-op in Balsall Common.
"We are pleased to announce that a new convenience store in the heart of Warwick town centre – with a coffee shop and an all-day food-to-go counter – will be opening soon," a Heart of England Co-Operative spokesperson said.
"Situated in Market Place, it is the 40th store to be launched by Heart of England Co-op.
"In addition to a Bewiched coffee shop, the takeaway counter will serve hot and cold food from morning to night – a new concept for Coventry and Warwickshire's largest independent retailer.
"The food-to-go range at the Warwick branch is the biggest ever to be offered at a Heart of England Co-op store.
"Amongst the choices on offer are salads, hot sandwiches, wraps, cooked breakfasts, pizza, jacket potatoes, pancakes, soft serve ice cream and cookie pie desserts.
"Along with a selection of fresh and frozen produce and essential household items, other features include an in-store bakery, a PayPoint and lottery counter and a free cash machine.
"This store will be opening August 21 at 10am."
The Original Factory Shop closed in mid-March.
