National Highways closed two of three lanes of the southbound carriageway between J12 Gaydon and J11 Banbury

The M40 has reopened fully near Gaydon after a lorry involved in a collision was removed from the road.

National Highways closed two of three lanes of the southbound carriageway between J12 Gaydon and J11 Banbury to remove the lorry which had come to rest down the embankment.

Queues of up to six miles and 60 minute delays were predicted.

The road reopened fully at around 4.30pm this afternoon.
