Local businesses embrace ‘Best Window in Warwick’ competition ahead of St George’s Day
By Nadia Sayed 22nd Apr 2026
Voting is underway to identify the best St George's Day-themed window in Warwick, as part of celebrations across the town.
Businesses across Warwick have embraced the competition, which was launched as part of a wider celebration of St George's Day that takes place this weekend, bringing their windows to life with an array of artistry and decoration.
Members of the public still have time to vote for their favourite displays via Warwick Town Council's Facebook page, with the winner announced on Friday (24 April).
The prize is a year's free membership with the Chamber of Trade, which champions businesses across the town.
Shops, restaurants and other businesses have been taking part, with elaborate displays adorning their windows as a reminder of Warwick's thriving independent economy.

Kelly Scott, Warwick Town Council's Town Centre Manager, shared: "We love a chance to celebrate in Warwick and it's been great to see so many local businesses come together to bring the town to life with wonderful window displays for St George's Day.
"It isn't just about the decorations, it's about the collaboration, the way our businesses come together giving their time and energy to make the town feel like a place worth visiting. We have a strong community of small independent businesses who support each other and the wider town, and their wonderful engagement with community activities like this is a reminder of why shopping local keeps our town so vibrant."
The competition comes ahead of celebrations on Saturday 25 April, with families given the chance to take a step back in time with a day of fun, history, and adventure at Warwick's St George's Day celebrations.
Across the town, a coordinated programme of activities will include St George's Day crafts at the Visitor Information Centre and Market Hall Museum, as well as a specially-designed interactive dragon trail where children can search for puzzle pieces hidden in shop windows around town. Trail maps will be available from the Visitor Information Centre, providing the perfect way to explore Warwick - with a special appearance from a knight on horseback.
The main focus of the celebrations will take place on Smith Street from 10am to 4pm, where an exciting programme of live performances and activities will take place, including displays from the Knights of Middle England as well as live sword fighting demonstrations and a street market showcasing local traders.
Information and voting for the St George's Day window competition can be found at Warwick Town Council's Facebook page.
