A housing developer will be set back over £18 million in legal requirements across three housing developments in South Warwickshire.

Taylor Wimpey Midlands will have to hand over the funds to local councils through section 106 agreements and Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funding for its new estates in Warwick, Gaydon and Hatton.

Warwick District Council (WDC) will receive more than £5.6 million in contributions for The Asps on Banbury Road in Warwick, including more than £3 million for schools; just over £84,000 for primary and secondary SEN (Special Education Needs) and approximately £488,000 for healthcare.

WDC will receive a further £1.6 million for the Union View development in Hatton - a third of which will go towards highway improvements and cycling routes.

Taylor Wimpey has also agreed to pay CIL for this site of more than £2 million - the local authority will decide where the money is spent.

Ben Walker, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey Midlands, said: "We are committed to building high-quality new homes and making sure that our developments are sustainable and positively contribute to local communities.

"Education, transport, infrastructure and community facilities are all among the areas that benefit from planning contributions, and we are pleased to be working with the communities across Warwickshire to deliver these ahead of our new developments."

Taylor Wimpey has recently denied there will be any structural issues with its 150 homes in Hatton, after residents raised concerns about the land around the new estate being waterlogged.
