A police helicopter had to be called as a car chase through Leamington Spa and Warwick saw a car "ramming" a police vehicle.

Warwickshire Police's Operational Patrol Unit said the "lengthy pursuit" of the Ford Fiesta started in Leamington before moving into Warwick.

The car's tyres were stung but the driver continued on deflating tyres before ramming a police vehicle.

The pursuit was brought to an end outside Priory Medical Centre in Warwick and the male driver was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop, theft of a motor vehicle and possession of an offensive weapon.
