Green light for dog grooming studio at Warwick house
By James Smith 23rd Apr 2026
Council planners have given the go-ahead for a dog grooming studio to be created at a Warwick home.
Warwick District Council granted permission for the works at the Birmingham Road property this month, with the scheme set to see the house's garage turned into the dedicated business space.
Plans submitted by Posh Paws by Zoe Ltd stated there would be no external changes to the building, but sound insulation would be added inside.
The application saw a huge number of supportive comments, with 36 residents writing to the council to say the application should be approved.
Four locals objected, raising concerns about noise, parking, waste and the possible "change to the character of the area".
Assessing the application, a council report said: "The proposed use has the potential to result in an unneighbourly development through the creation of noise associated with the proposed business.
"This has been reflected within public objections, who note concerns in relation to dogs barking, noise of machinery and increased vehicle noise within a residential location.
"The council's environmental protection officer has been consulted on the proposed development and requested the submission of a noise management plan to ensure that measures are in place to minimise disturbance to neighbouring properties.
"A noise management plan has since been submitted in support of the application, received on 01/04/2026, which details specific measures that will be taken to reduce noise impacts on neighbouring dwellings."
The noise management plan said rubber mats would be installed under equipment, doors and windows would be kept shut, and appointments would be scheduled with no overlaps to stop dogs barking at each other.
