Full road closure details announced as Warwick prepares for Commonwealth Games

Detailed road closure information has been released by Warwick Town Council as the town prepares to host the Commonwealth Games cycling road race this August.

Warwickshire County Council announced last month that there would be four weeks of closures across the town in order to remove street furniture ahead of the event.

Work began on July 3 on Coventry Road by St John's House Museum, with a rolling programme of works to follow across the town.

The following road closures have been announced for the rest of the month:

11 and 12 July 2022 – West Street

Warwickshire County Council is removing centre islands on West Street on 11 and 12 July, from 9.30am to 3.30pm. Two-way signals will be in place

12 July 2022 – Stratford Road 

Warwickshire Council Council is removing centre islands on Stratford Road on Tuesday 12 July, from 9.30am to 3.30pm. Two-way signals will be in place

13 - 17 July 2022 – Jury Street, High Street and Castle Hill

Warwickshire County Council is removing centre islands and road narrowings and there will be resurfacing of High Street and Jury Street from 13 to 16 July, between 9.30am and 3.30pm.

Road closures will be in place.

18 July 2022 – Hampton Road

Warwickshire County Council is removing road narrowings on Hampton Road on Monday 18 July, from 9.30am to 3.30pm. Two-way signals will be in place

18 July 2022 – Old Budbrooke Road (CV35) 

Road surfacing will take place on Monday 18 July, from 9.30am to 3.30pm. Two-way traffic signals will be in place

24 July 2022 – Saltisford and North Rock 

Warwickshire County Council are removing centre islands on Saltisford on Sunday 24 July, from 9.30am to 3.30pm. To view the road closure notice, please click here. To view the diversion route, please click here

24 July 2022 – Emscote Road to Portobello Bridge 

Road surfacing will take place on Sunday 24 July, from 8am to 4pm. To view the road closure notice, please click here. To view the diversion route, please click here

25 July to 29 July – Myton Road 

Warwickshire County Council is removing the centre islands and road narrowings on Myton Road from 25 July to 29 July, between 9.30am and 3.30pm.

Two and three-way traffic signals will be in place.

31 July 2022 – Priory Road
