A Warwick curry house has been nominated for a national prize at the 11th annual English Curry Awards.

Organised by Oceanic Consulting, the awards "celebrate Asian talent across the UK's curry industry".

Warwick Spice has been nominated in the Bangladeshi Restaurant of The Year category, alongside nine other eateries.

Usha Bangladeshi Cuisine (Stratford-upon-Avon) and The Dhaka Dynasty (Coventry) have been nominated in the same category against the Smith Street venue.

Warwick Spice, which serves Indian and Bangladeshi cuisine, was previously nominated in 2019 for the Best Restaurant Design and Ambience prize,

Winners will be announced at a black-tie awards ceremony on 22 August at the Holiday Inn at Birmingham Airport.

The categories also include a Best of Birmingham and Best of Manchester prizes.

A spokesperson from eOceanic Consulting said: "The curry campaign has been hugely successful across the UK with Scottish, English and London editions to the awards.

"The English Curry Awards were one of our first and remain one of our best awards. It's always a brilliant night of fun, food and celebration.

"Despite the many challenges facing the curry industry, these awards prove year after year how much talent there is fuelling the industry, satisfying all of our curry cravings.

"We have an abundance of talent and fierce competition this year and we wish best of luck to all finalists."
