Full details of Warwick's community jubilee party announced
Here is everything you need to know for Warwick's town centre jubilee party this Thursday, June 2.
Taking place between 12pm and 7pm, the event will be hosted by Warwick Town Council in Market Place.
The community day will be opened by Mayor of Warwick Cllr Richard Edgington, and will start with a rendition of the National Anthem by the Warwick Community Band.
Residents are invited to bring their own food to the free-to-attend event, but can also buy refreshments from one of the local businesses that will be open throughout the day.
Tables and chairs will be set up in the town centre square but residents can also bring their own chairs and rugs if they would prefer.
Bread & Co., The Deli and Thomas Oken Tearooms will also offer pre-bookable picnic boxes across the Jubilee weekend so people can enjoy them at home or at the event on 2 June.
Residents are even encouraged to dress up in red, white and blue to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee
Warwick's Town Crier will be in attendance and there will also be a selection of classic cars and a steam train.
Live music will be performed throughout the day featuring songs from across the decades from Boperator, Chaos, The Peas, Alviz and Warwick's Community Band, amongst others.
The winner of the children's Jubilee cake competition (organised by Norma Jean Bakery and the town council) will be announced on the day - entries closed last Wednesday.
Across the weekend children will also be encouraged to try and spot as many corgi stickers in local shop windows as they can.
A number of smaller street parties will also be taking place over the weekend. Warwick District Council has announced details of street closures here.
