Fire crews have now got a fire on a residential street in Warwick under control.

Four appliances were called to the blaze on Mill Street at roughly 3pm this afternoon (August 9) where a garage roof was on fire.

Locals reported seeing a large amount of smoke in the area, and residents were told to keep their windows closed.

Neighbouring properties were evacuated while the fire was put out.

Crews at the scene told Nub News the fire is now under control, but firefighters will remain at the scene for a few hours.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown.

Banbury Road was initially closed due to the fire, but emergency services were able to reopen one lane.

More to follow.
