The café in the great hall at a Warwick tourist attraction has suddenly closed.

The Lord Leycester announced yesterday (July 9) the facilities have shut after the company leasing it decided to pull out.

The team behind the Lord Leycester said it is trying to find a replacement as a "matter of urgency".

Previous operator Fat Birds left the site in March - as well as its other unit in the town - before another provider was brought in on a temporary basis.

They have now departed.

A spokesperson for the Lord Leycester told Nub News: "The Lord Leycester's café concession contract was with Coffee Cure Ltd, who we believe also traded as Fat Birds Café.

"In March this contract was terminated and a new company brought in on an initial interim basis.

"They have decided, for purely commercial reasons, to withdraw.

"So the café in the Great Hall is currently closed while we negotiate a new concession contract with a different provider as a matter of priority.

"The Great Hall remains open to view by ticket-holding visitors."
