A planning application for a new 47-bed retirement home in Heathcote has been put forward to Warwick District Council.

McCarthy Stone has applied for planning permission for the home, car parking, landscaping and associated works at the site on Harbury Lane.

The company has already held a public consultation for the development, which would sit next to a premium 75-bed care home which opened last month.

Current plans include a range of homes for rent, private sale and part-rent part-buy.

"The design of any building should harmonise with its surrounding context, seamlessly blending into the existing landscape while adding to the local character," the application said.

"In this project, a contemporary aesthetic has been embraced, to tie in with the other buildings within the local centre."
