A local boxer won his fifth professional bout on Saturday (April 2), knocking out his opponent in just 23 seconds.

Heavyweight Matty Harris overcame pro fighter Milos Veletic live on Channel 5, wrapping up the fight well within the first round with a powerful left hook.

Harris, who trains at Cleary's Boxing Gym, has been referred to as a young Lenox Lewis and will be entering the World Youth Championships by the end of the year.

Manager Max McCraken - brother of Rob McCraken who trained and coached Anthony Joshua - said: "Matty's the hardest punching heavyweight in British boxing."

And coach Edwin Cleary predicted the result, telling Harris before the fight: "You've shown everyone what you can do with right now do it with your left."

The fight was on the undercard for Harlem Eubank's clash with Christian Uruzquieta at York Hall in London.
