Work is set to begin on the refurbishment of the paddling pool in St Nicholas Park, Warwick.

The "much-needed upgrade" will see non-slip surfaces, improved pool surrounds, jets and fountains with free-standing shades, and benches around the outside for parents installed.

Warwick District Council also said the paddling pool at Victoria Park, Royal Leamington Spa will be given a revamp.

Work will start from Monday 10 February, and is due to finish in "early summer".

The council's contractors will "ensure that the impact to park users during the construction is minimum", though visitors should "expect some construction noise and traffic".

Cllr Will Roberts, portfolio holder for neighbourhood, said: "We know how popular and well-used our paddling pools are in Victoria Park and St Nicholas Park, and we're excited to be able to upgrade these much-loved and free to use facilities for our residents.

"We look forward to sharing the designs and visuals for these refurbished facilities over the coming months, and to welcoming families in the early Summer when they're set to open."

Further updates on the refurbishment project will be added to the council's website.
