Work is "progressing well" on the next phase major renovations at Warwick Hospital, the local NHS trust has said.

Plans to demolish and rebuild the entrance at Warwick Hospital to create a "state-of-the-art" facility were signed off in 2023, and works have been progressing on site since.

South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust celebrated a major milestone on the works last year as the ground floor was completed, with a new Costa and M&S Food unveiled.

Works on the upper floors then began in March this year.

In an update this week, the trust said the upper two floors are on track to be completed in spring 2027.

"Once complete, the space will provide two brand-new wards featuring modern treatment rooms, welcoming waiting areas, and dedicated clinic spaces," the update said.

"The new facilities will become the home of Hatton Ward and the 23 Hour Ward, creating an improved clinical environment for patients, visitors, and staff, supporting our Trust to manage increased demand for our services."
