Today (25 July) marks the return of Warwick's popular Smith Street party.

The town was buzzing as families from across Warwickshire headed to the street.

Kicking off at 11am, the day saw Smith Street transformed into a vibrant market, packed with local traders.

Visitors could expect everything from handmade jewellery and sweet treats to skincare and pet goodies.

The day also marked the first day in business for the new beauty and aesthetics clinic, The Aesthetics Lounge.

Melissa Birch, owner of The Aesthetics Lounge, renovated the premises, formerly occupied by beauty salon Mayfield, which has relocated to a few doors down the road.

This year's party was hosted by Bread & Co, which announced it will be closing its doors in September, after 17 years in business.

Warwick District Council shared: "Don't miss your chance to immerse yourself in the lively atmosphere, support your neighbourhood businesses, and discover new favourite products and artists.

"Smith Street Party is the perfect way to spend a day celebrating the best of what your community has to offer."

Also taking place this weekend is the 46th Warwick Folk Festival which began on (23 July) and runs until Sunday 26 July.

Several road closures remain in place including:

  • Smith Street
  • Gerrard Street
  • Chapel Street, junction with Chapel Row & Smith Street
  • Cross Street, junction with Priory Road & Smith Street
