A collection of over 80 different varieties of snowdrop in Warwick has been named one of the best places in the UK to see the plants this year.

House and Garden magazine has named Hill Close Gardens as one of the top locations in the country to see the late winter blooms.

The Victorian garden will open its doors to guests for the annual Snowdrop Weekend on February 3 and 4, between 11am and 4pm each day, with refreshments, bulbs and plants all on sale.

The gardens were last year listed in the Daily Telegraph's top places to see snowdrops in the UK.

And writing at the end of January, House and Garden said: "The Hill Close Gardens in Warwick are a rare example of detached Victorian leisure gardens and are dotted with historic summerhouses.

"The gardens hold more than 80 varieties of snowdrops, including an entire border planted with older varieties dating from pre-1900."

Adult tickets on the door will cost £5.

Organisers said: "Join us to celebrate our fabulous collection of snowdrops.

"Our tearoom will be open and we will be selling a number of the varieties that we have at Hill Close."

The gardens will also host a Snowdrop drawing event on the afternoon of Saturday, February 10.

"You will be working from a still life of Hill Close snowdrops brought in and set up in the comfort of an indoor studio with additional opportunities to go into the garden and photograph the flowers growing outside," organisers said.

"You will be encouraged to work in ways, and with materials that best suit you.

"All that is needed is a love of snowdrops, gardens and Art! All levels welcome."
