Warwick has been named as one of the top 160 places to live in the UK by property finder company Garrington.

The firm has recently published its 2024 marketing report for England and Wales which ranks 1,429 towns, cities and villages on measures covering five categories.

These categories are natural environment, wellbeing, heritage/culture, schools, employment and connectivity and house price quality and value.

Garrington also lists the average family home cost and average sales price change across the last 12 months in each settlement.

And Warwick is listed as the 158th best place to live in the UK.

Recently revealed by Nub News as the sixth most expensive place to buy property in the county, Garrington lists the average property price as £535,562, a 1 per cent rise in the average sales price over the past 12 months.

Warwick scored highest for house price and quality, being listed at number 75.

This was followed by 114th place for schools, employment and connectivity, and then 225th for heritage and culture.

Natural environment was less promising ay 1288, with wellbeing placed at 686.

The list was topped by Twyford in Berkshire.

Neighbouring Kenilworth was placed as 36th, with Leamington Spa at 145 and Stratford-upon-Avon at 155.

"Our report is not a league table of the 'best and worst places to live'," Garrington said.

"On the contrary, the research only ranks the best places to live, so being included – whether at number 1 or number 1429 – is to be applauded."
