Warwick planning roundup: Year-long roadworks, 1,000 solar panels and industrial estate

Here are the biggest planning stories from the last week in and around Warwick.
New Industrial Estate
Councillors hope to have retained a trump card despite voting through in-principle permission for an unpopular warehousing development on the edge of Warwick.
Midlands Land Portfolio Limited applied for outline planning consent for storage, distribution and industrial use of 8.8 hectares of land to the east of Stratford Road, next to junction 15 of the M40, Warwick.
Approval was voted through unanimously with the building heights to be judged when the detailed application comes forward.

Year-Long Roadworks
Warwick's MP has thrown his support behind locals in Hatton as they face nearly a year of disruption and queues through the village centre.
Matt Western has called on Warwickshire County Council to listen to residents, and not force the lengthy roadworks along Birmingham Road on them.
Locals protested outside a public meeting on Friday (October 13) as they face 11 months of traffic lights and delays as works to create a new junction for the Union View housing estate get underway this month.

Training Centre's Solar Success
Plans to install nearly 1,000 solar panels at the guide dog training centre on Banbury Road have been given the green light by district planners.
Guide Dogs for the Blind Association has been told it does not need prior approval from Warwick District Council to cover the roofs of almost all the buildings at the Bishop's Tachbrook site with PV panels.
The charity has been given the all clear to install 962 panels which it says will have a capacity of 394.42kWp.
