Here are the biggest planning stories from the last week in and around Warwick.

Driving Range

Plans to build a 24-bay covered driving range at The Warwickshire Hotel and Country Club have been given the green light by Warwick District Council.

The Leek Wootton club, which has two "championship standard" 18 hole golf courses, had applied to demolish its existing driving range and replace it with a more modern design.

Currently the club has 23 bays, only nine of which are covered.

Timpson at Tesco

A Timpson pod could be built in the car park of Warwick's Tesco if plans are approved by Warwick District Council.

Supermarket Giant Tesco has applied to build the small retail unit, adding to the 500 that already exist nationwide.

Similar plans had been put forward for the Emscote Road store at the end of last year, but were withdrawn after the council said the application needed to show there was nowhere else the pod could go.

Multi-Storey Carpark

Plans to build a two-storey carpark at Telent's offices off Haywood Road have been signed off by the district council.

Despite objections from neighbours, Warwick District Council's planning committee yesterday (February 28) unanimously approved the new structure, which will provide 163 extra spaces.

Telent said it needed more spaces for its expanding workforce, with the project set to see two more decks of parking built above 81 existing spaces.
