Warwick planning roundup: School expansion, lambing barn refused and retirement flats decision
Here are the biggest planning stories from the last week in and around Warwick.
School's expansion
Plans to build a new block at Myton School have been submitted to Warwick District Council.
The Myton Road school said the new block would be built on the current turning circle used for dropping off pupils and could see the school accept 180 more students each year.
The teaching block would include 12 new classrooms, offices, study spaces, and IT room and a cafe with outdoor dining space.

Barn refused
An application to build a new barn to provide shelter for lambing sheep in springtime has been refused by WDC.
The plans, for Ashley Crescent, would also have provided space to store farm machinery but the council said the farm was too small to have another barn.
"Part six of the Town and Country Planning Order 2015 only allows for the erection of new buildings where the agricultural holding has an area in excess of 5 hectares," a council report said.
"As the land only extends to 1.9 hectares, the erection of new buildings cannot be considered."

Flats window battle
Residents at a block of Coten End retirement flats have won their battle to replace rotting window frames with modern upvc alternatives.
Planning officers at Warwick District Council had recommended that the application from the owners of Westbury Court, which backs on to St Nicholas Park, be turned down because although the property was just 30 years old it was within Warwick's conservation area.
But councillors overturned the decision.

Tesco Tree Chopping
A number of trees in car park of the Emscote Road Tesco will be chopped down after WDC decided not to impose a tree protection order.
Tesco said the works were routine and for public safety.
All 63 trees on site were surveyed and 11 are set to be felled.
