Here are the biggest local planning stories from the past week.
Roadworks Begin
Months of disruption to motorists in Warwick is due to begin on Monday (13 October) as works around St John's get underway.
After years of planning and public consultations, Warwickshire County Council is due to start on the roadworks around the town centre junction, with the project expected to last until March 2026.
Eventually a shared cycleway/footpath will be created, new crossings installed, bike racks built and the service road outside the shops turned into a one-way road.
Lift Off
For the past 18 months, construction at Warwick Train Station has been underway to install two new lifts.
This has been made possible by Government funding through the Access to All programme.
Commenting on the opening of the lifts, Cllr John Holland expressed there are many people who cannot manage steps including people with prams or people who use a wheelchair.
Lidl Moves Forward
Lidl is planning to move forward with the demolition of a former factory to make way for a new store between Warwick and Leamington.
The supermarket giant has already revealed its plans for Europa House on Heathcote Lane, but is yet to submit a full planning application for the development.
Lidl has however asked Warwick District Council for 'prior approval' to demolish the existing building to make way for the supermarket.
