Here are the biggest planning stories from the last week in and around Warwick.
Poultry Plans
Access issues have scuppered the latest plans to build two replacement poultry houses on Ward Hill, in Norton Lindsey.
Similar proposals were twice thrown out by Warwick District Council and subsequent appeals lost prior to the latest application being considered by the council's planning committee when it met this week.
A report by planning officer Dan Charles had recommended that this was also refused due to an objection from Warwickshire County Council's highways department.
----------
Council Confidence
A decision to allow 119 homes to be built on a former farm site in Baginton have prompted one councillor to wonder if residents will ever be able to trust decision-makers in the future.
Members of Warwick District Council's planning committee approved plans to build 63 houses on the lower portion of Rosswood Farm, Coventry Road, when they met this week, having previously approved 56 affordable houses on the other part of the plot.
----------
Hospital Hut
A temporary paediatric assessment unit built at Warwick Hospital during the pandemic could become a permanent feature if plans are approved by Warwick District Council.
South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust has applied to keep the portacabin, which sits over 21 parking spaces in car park C, to help meet the rising demand for space at the hospital.
The unit was built during the pandemic under permitted development rights "to provide an immediate response to coronavirus".
